What's New in CSI TriSano® Enterprise Edition 3.0?

Core Customizer

CSI TriSano® Enterprise Edition 3.0 contains a set of core data fields that are available for every disease or condition defined in the system. These core fields are grouped into sections, and the sections are organized on a set of tabs for each event type, such as a morbidity, contact or outbreak event. With CSI TriSano® Enterprise Edition 3.0, the new Core Customizer feature allows you to remove selected core data fields (non-required fields), selected sections and tabs by choosing which of these elements you want shown or hidden for each disease or condition or group of diseases or conditions for each event type.

With the Core Customizer, you can define the default set of tabs, sections and core fields that will be displayed for all disease or conditions for each event type. You can then customize this further for any specific disease or condition, such as "Syphilis, primary", and then copy that definition to other stages of syphilis, such as "Syphilis, secondary" that should be customized in the same way. You can then further customize the core fields, sections and tabs for "Syphilis, secondary", if necessary.

Using the Core Customizer, in conjunction with the Form Builder, you can completely determine the data fields to capture for every different disease or condition. This leads to a simpler interface; a set of core and form fields specific to the disease or condition, superior case, outbreak and contact management, better performance, easier training, improved productivity and usability for case investigators, epidemiologists and informaticists.

Patient View

CSI TriSano® Enterprise Edition 3.0 is both an event-centric and patient-centric system. Included with CSI TriSano® Enterprise Edition 3.0 is a new feature, Patient View, that displays information from all the morbidity and contact events associated with a person in a single tabbed view. This tabbed Patient View shows the following for a person:

From Patient View, you are able to edit or show any of the events that are displayed.

Patient View can be accessed from several areas of CSI TriSano® Enterprise Edition 3.0, including the following:

Patient View allows a disease investigator to quickly review all case, laboratory, treatment and contact history. This leads to higher productivity and more informed case management decisions.

Electronic Laboratory Reporting - Support for Meaningful Use

CSI TriSano® Enterprise Edition 3.0 provides Electronic Laboratory Reporting support. With CSI TriSano® Enterprise Edition 3.0, laboratory reports in HL7 2.3.1 or 2.5.1 format are first viewed in a staging area. The user can either update an existing event with the laboratory results, create a new event with the laboratory results, or discard the laboratory results. In addition, the system supports the management of LOINC codes, common test types, and organisms for laboratory and clinical observations and tests. With the inclusion of HL7 2.5.1 support, CSI TriSano® Enterprise Edition 3.0 allows public health agencies, working with public and private hospitals and laboratories to receive the meaningful use standard for the electronic submission of lab results to public health.

Treatment Select

CSI TriSano® Enterprise Edition 3.0 allows you to limit which treatments in the system can be selected while working with cases and contacts. Treatments can be defined as available for one, many or all disease conditions, or available if no disease has been specified. Treatments are specified on the Clinical tab of morbidity and contact events.

A new administrative capability, "Manage Treatments" has been added to CSI TriSano® Enterprise Edition 3.0. With this capability, an administrator can define treatments in the system. Each treatment can be specified as active or inactive and indicated that the treatment should be shown when no disease has been selected for the event.

In addition, the "Manage Disease Information" administrative capability has been extended to allow the treatments created using "Manage Treatments" to be made available for a specific disease. Once the set of treatments for a disease have been specified, this set of treatments can be copied easily to one or more other diseases. After copying, the treatments for these diseases can be customized further.

The Treatment Select feature in CSI TriSano® Enterprise Edition 3.0 allows you to customize the treatments available for any or all defined disease conditions, leading to a higher degree of data quality and consistency.
